Born on 6th September 1985, Kris began playing guitar at the age of 6 with help from his musician father. It was with his Father that he performed his very first gig at the tender age of 9, rattling off a couple of Deep Purple covers in front of an audience of 400 people. Kris then went on to form many different bands throughout his school life, ranging from ska-punk to metal!
At the age of 16, Kris formed the Funky rock band "Who'z in the room with Norman?" and began gigging extensively around the UK. After building up a large following, the band caught the eye of indie label 'Rock Power Services'. This led to U.S.Tours and recording their album in Philadelphia.
Kris started teaching at the age of 15, and is now proud to be lecturing at 'The Academy', a guitar school of excellence. Kris is an active session musician for electric, acoustic and bass guitar.
Early influences included Gary Moore, Eddie Van Halen and Richie Blackmore before discovering the likes of Vai, Malmsteen and Satriani in his early teens. In addition to these, Kris now considers the following guitarists as main influences: Jimi Hendrix, Greg Howe, Andy Timmons, John Petrucci, Shaun Baxter, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, John Scofield, Richie Kotzen, Steve Lukather to name but a few.
Kris owns and runs The Guitar School and studio situated in Torquay. It is here that Kris teaches his private students and runs part-time specialist courses in different aspects of the guitar world.
