My name is Matt and I, despite what the rockabilly clothing may tell you, I was born and raised in the southern most portion of Kentucky and not southern California. I recently got married to my lovely wife, Gracie Hale, just days before writing this bio, so she hasn't killed me yet. Anyway, I have been playing the guitar for about six years and am entirely self-taught. Most of my influence came from artists like Allan Holdsworth,Shawn Lane, Johnny Hiland, Brent Mason, Rusty Cooley, Albert, Freddie, and B.B. King, Bumblefoot, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Victor and Reggie Wooten, Joe Stump, Frank Gamble, oh well you get the idea... lots of players ranging from jazz, blues, metal, folk, etc. Likewise, through my ethnomusicological studies and appreciation of various cultural musical expressions, that I have found a deep love for African, Afro-cuban, Latin, Chinese, Japanese, Idian, Native North America, traditional North America string music, and other musical generes which have been a joy in my musical worldview.
I have been providing private and public musical lessons for nearly five years and have enjoyed every minute of it. Today, I spend most of my time practicing, composing, recording, and creating lessons for my private students as well as future lessons for Shred Academy, and studying musical culture.
I can be reached at my email at firstname.lastname@example.org for any reason and would love to hear from you, and don't forget to check out my first insturctional, The Art of Motion, as well as my other instuctional materials which are in the works.
